Black Girls Converge isn’t just an event—it’s a movement born from a deep-seated need to foster equity and opportunity in the STEM fields for young Black girls. We see a glaring gap in representation. In classrooms, labs, and boardrooms, the voices and faces of Black girls are conspicuously absent. It’s not for a lack of talent or potential; rather, it’s a systemic issue stemming from historical inequities and ongoing biases.

We host Black Girls Converge to challenge this status quo, to disrupt the narrative that suggests certain spaces are not meant for Black girls. We believe that every girl, regardless of her race or background, deserves equal access to education and opportunities in STEM. By creating a dedicated space for Black girls to converge, we aim to provide them with the support, resources, and encouragement they need to thrive in these fields.

Girls Set Go celebrates the brilliance, creativity, and innovation inherent in every Black girl. We recognize the unique challenges they face and strive to address them head-on. Through our annual gathering and mentorship programs, we strive to empower them to pursue their passions and dreams fearlessly.

But Black Girls Converge is more than just a one-day event. It’s a catalyst for change, a rallying cry for a brighter, more inclusive future. We know that the journey toward equity is long and arduous, but we are committed to walking it together. We host Black Girls Converge because we believe in the power of Black girls to change the world—and we’re here to ensure they have every opportunity to do so.
